Attack of the salads!

Do you know that Tik Tok?? The one that has something to do with someone either getting skinny or taking “steps” to lose weight and you hear “HI, my name is Bella Hadid.”
Well, if you haven’t you should check it out because it leads to the topic of this week’s blog. In all honestly there’s nothing wrong with salads I just want to know
Why are we being attacked by them???
Ok so no a salad’s going to randomly pop out of a dark corner and force you to eat it, but their promotion has escalated in the past year or two on social media.
So, let’s get into it.
Salads have become a trendy food item in recent years. Gone are the days when salads were just a side dish or something to eat when you were trying to lose weight. Now, salads are the main event! There are countless restaurants dedicated solely to salads, and you can even find salad bars in many grocery stores.
But why the sudden increase in popularity? Well, for starters, salads are a great way to get in your daily dose of vegetables. They are also an excellent option for people who are trying to eat healthier. And let’s not forget that salads can be incredibly tasty and satisfying!
So, what are some of the benefits of the increase in popularity of salads? Let’s take a look:
1. More Variety
With the increase in popularity of salads, we’re seeing more variety in the types of salads that are available. You can find everything from traditional Caesar salads to more adventurous options like Thai salads or salads with unique ingredients like quinoa or kale.
2. Healthier options
As I mentioned earlier, salads are a great option for people who are trying to eat healthier. With more restaurants and grocery stores offering salads, it’s easier than ever to find healthy options when you’re eating out or shopping for groceries.
3. Portion control
Salads are an excellent option for people who are trying to watch their portion sizes. Since salads are typically lower in calories than other types of foods, they can help you feel full without overeating.
4. Quick and easy
Salads are an excellent option for people who are short on time. You can throw together a salad in just a few minutes, making it a quick and easy meal option for busy people.
5. Tasty and satisfying
Just because salads are healthy doesn’t mean they can’t be tasty and satisfying! With the right ingredients and dressing, a salad can be a delicious and filling meal.
Now that we’ve talked about the benefits of the increase in the popularity of salads, let’s get into some of the funny and charismatic aspects of this trend.
First of all, have you noticed that salads have become incredibly photogenic? It seems like every other day there’s a new Instagram post featuring a beautiful, colorful salad. People are putting a lot of effort into making their salads look as good as they taste!
Another funny thing about the increase in the popularity of salads is the number of salad-related puns that have popped up. From “lettuce turnip the beet” to “we’re on a roll with these salads”, there’s no shortage of salad puns out there. Some people might find them cheesy, but I think they’re hilarious.
And let’s not forget about the rise of the “big salad”. Seinfeld fans will remember the episode where Elaine quests to find the perfect “big salad”. Well, it seems like people have taken that concept and run with it. Now, you can find salads that are so big they could feed a small army!
Overall, I think the increase in the popularity of salads is a great thing. It’s encouraging people to eat healthier and providing more options for people looking for tasty, satisfying meals. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good salad pun?
But as we come to the end of this week’s installment of me trying to convince myself to be healthier before my next restaurant review, I think we could all benefit from choosing a salad instead of fries the next time we order a meal.
